You should always rinse your rice before cooking it.
An average bag has a collection of dust and starch from long travels.
This will make for a dirty and gummy rice if not rinsed prior to cooking.
The easiest way to clean it is to add a little water and swish it around with your hands.
After a few seconds, top it off with more water.
Pour most of the water off and repeat the same process until the water runs clear.
