Start by thinly cutting your onions with a food slicer.
Make them thin but not too thin.
Add to a pan and turn the stove on “high” heat.
Add a splash of water over the sliced onions and quickly cover with a lid.
Leave it for two to three minutes to soften and then remove the lid and add a few knobs of butter along with a generous pinch of salt plus a sprinkle of sugar.
Reduce the heat to “medium-high” and stir every couple of minutes.
Add a small splash of water to deglaze the pan whenever you need.
After about 15 minutes your caramelized onions should be finished!
