Crispy Skin Salmon

Here’s how to make perfect, crispy-skin salmon.

Start by patting your salmon dry with a paper towel.

Then prepare a stainless steel pan with some neutral oil over medium-high heat until it begins to shimmer.

At this point you’ll salt your salmon just before placing it down into the pan and press and hold for about 10 seconds so it doesn’t arch up.

Cook the salmon skin-side down for about five minutes, or until the color climbs a little over halfway up the side of the fish.

Then flip and add some butter, as well as a few aromatics, but do not let the butter go on top of the skin.

Instead, we’re kind of giving the salmon a flavorful butter bath to help it finish cooking.

And once finished, it should sound like this.
